Our Story
Eleven Centuries. One Estate.
Torre Collevento is a private estate near Orvieto: a tower whose origins reach back to the ninth century, patiently restored, set among ancient olive groves with a panoramic pool, seven suites, and gardens that have been tended for over a thousand years.
Eight minutes from Orvieto's old city. Seven from its station. In the hills of southern Umbria, at the border with Tuscany, it is also among the most sought-after venues for weddings and private gatherings in central Italy.
What has emerged from years of quiet restoration is not a hotel, but a house: a place where luxury is expressed not in spectacle, but in the quality of silence, the weight of the linen, and the unhurried grace of everything that surrounds you.
A Living Heritage

Origins
First raised in the ninth century on the Umbrian ridge, Torre Collevento was built to command: a sentinel over farmland and valley alike, its stone quarried from the very ground it stands upon.

The Agricultural Estate
For centuries, the tower presided over a working estate: olive groves, vineyards, grain fields tended by families whose names are now etched into local memory.

The Restoration
A five-year labour of reverence. Local stonemasons, carpenters, and craftspeople worked slowly, guided by the principle that nothing original should be lost without reason.

An Estate Reborn
Torre Collevento receives its first guests: not as a hotel, but as a house. One that happens to welcome those who understand the difference.

What Guides Us
Every choice at Torre Collevento, in stone, in linen, in conversation, reflects the same underlying conviction: that beauty and care are not decorative, but essential.
The Family
Greta and Giacomo, together with their four children, are the living spirit of this place. Their belief in a life of depth, connection, and beauty is not a philosophy: it is simply how they live, and how they welcome others.
The Art of Slowness
We are not in the business of filling time. Torre Collevento is for those who have chosen, however briefly, to stop. To read until lunch. To notice the light change over the valley.
The Hand Behind Every Detail
The floors were laid by craftsmen who knew this stone. The linens were chosen by hand. Nothing here was bought in bulk or placed without thought.
An Enduring Aesthetic
We do not follow seasons of taste. The choices made here, in material, in colour, in proportion, were made to last, and to improve with age.
Rooted in Umbria
The estate sources from the land around it. The oil is pressed here. The wine comes from nearby. We support the artisans, farmers, and winemakers who keep this territory alive.
The Restoration
To restore Torre Collevento was to listen: to what the walls asked for, to what the stone could bear, to what the light did at each hour of the day. We worked with stonemasons and carpenters who had grown up around these materials. Chestnut beams, hand-hewn. Terracotta floors worn smooth by centuries of passage. Ceilings whose frescoes we cleaned, not erased.
Modern comforts were introduced as one might introduce a guest, quietly, with care not to disturb what was already there. Underfloor warmth beneath ancient stone. Bathrooms that reveal themselves only when a door opens. The result is a house that feels entire: history present not as decoration, but as the very substance of the place.
